Three Ways How People Can Get Communicate with Others

Communication is a process of delivering information (messages, ideas) from one party to another party. People communicate to share their knowledge and their experience. Through communication, attitudes and feelings of person or group of people can be understood by others. However, communication will only be effective if the message can be interpreted as the recipient of the message. The message can only be understood if the speaker (someone who deliver the information) and the recipient (someone who receive the information) can understand what message that they delivered each other. In communication, there are three ways how people can communicate each other, such as by using verbal communication, making written communications, and doing some body languages.

The first way is by using verbal communication. Verbal communication is when we communicate our message verballyto whoever is receiving the message. Verbal communication is one way for people to communicate face-to-face. Some of the key components of verbal communication are sounds, words, speaking, and language. Through speaking, we try to eliminate the misunderstanding, but sometimes it is hard to do. Speaking can be looked at in two major areas: interpersonal and public speaking. Since the majority of speaking is an interpersonal process, to communicate effectively we must not simply dean up or language, but learn to to people. In interpersonal speaking, etiquette is very important. To be an effective communicator, someone have to speak in a manner that is not offending to the receiver. The other area of speaking is public speaking. From the origin of time, it has been obvious that some people are just better public speaker than others. Because of this, today a good speaker can earn a living by speaking to people in a public setting. Some of the major areas of public speaking are speaking to persuade, speaking to inform, and speaking to inspire or motivate.

The second way is by using the written communication. Written communication is the development and expression of ideas in writing. Written communication can be formal, informal, and can convey emotion not just by words but by the style of writing (nice handwriting versus big black block letters for example). Communicating trough writing is essential in the modern world and is becoming ever more so as we participate in what is now commonly called the information age. In fact, written communication is the most common form of business communication. It is essential for small business owners and managers to develop effective written communication skill and to encourage the same in all employees. One advantage to using written communication is that written messages do not have to be delivered on the spur of the moment, instead, they can be edited and revised several times before they are sent, so that the content can be shaped to maximum effect. Another potential pitfalls associated with written communication is, unlike oral communication, wherein impression and reaction are exchanged instantaneously, the sender of written communication does not generally receive immediate feedback to his or her message.

The last way is by using their body language. Body language is a part of communication’s way which consists of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements. Humans send interpret such signals almost entirely subconsciously. Body language may provide dues as to the attitude or state of mind of a person. For example, it may indicate aggression, attentiveness, boredom, relaxed state, pleasure, amusement, and intoxication among many other cues. The technique of “reading” people is used frequently. For example, the idea of mirroring body language to put people at ease is commonly used in interviews. Body language signals may have a goal other than communication. Both people would kep this in mind. One of the most basic and powerful body language signals is when a person crosses his or her arms across the chest. This can indicate that a person is putting up an unconscious barrier between themselves and others. Another example, consistent eye contact can indicate that a person is thinking positively of what the speaker is saying. Disbelief is often indicated by averted gaze, or by touching the ear or scratching the chin. Some people use and understand body language differently.

In summary, communication is important for people in the whole world. To get communicate with others , people used to do several ways, such as using verbal communication, making the written communication, and using their body language. By doing and using that three simple things, people can get and give the information each other. Therefore, as a human being, who always needs to get communicate with others, we have to keep that three ways, so we can still alive as a social beings.
